Since 1983, the Trust has won many international, national and regional
awards. The true relevance of awards is that the project work of
Limerick Civic Trust has been judged at the highest level by various
panels of independent people. In most cases, we have not been the
outright winners, but to reach the final stages of any National/International
competition is no mean achievement.
We have had our disappointments and surprises at decisions over
the years, but also we have had our joyous occasions, most notably
in 1992 when we won the European Award, and in 1995 when we won
the FAS All Ireland Award. The Georgian House Project has won three
National and two Regional awards. In 2004 our Visitors attractions guide won a world award and the Bishops' Palace was awarded the best old building in Ireland award in 2005.
The greatest honour of all to be bestowed on Limerick Civic Trust
was in June 2001, when Limerick City Council gave a Civic reception
in recognition of the work of the Trust throughout Limerick.
